THE IMPORTANCE OF PRAYING POWERFULLY OVER YOUR CHILDREN
In today’s blog, I will be sharing some of my personal bible scriptures that I use daily to pray for my children and generation.
BIBLE SCRIPTURES ON PRAYER
PSALMS 112 V 2 NIV
Their children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.
“I enjoy personalizing the word of God, so feel free to add your name to these scriptures. In paraphrasing prophetically, I say that ‘Jummie’s children will be mighty in America and the world; the generation of the upright will be blessed.’ Jummie’s generation will be blessed because she is upright in the eyes of God. I love the latter part of that scripture, ‘The generation of the upright’, which emphasizes the importance of being upright.
Are you living an upright life? As you can see from this verse, there is a promise for your children and future generations when you live an upright life. I pray that as you read this blog, the spirit of righteousness will come upon you in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
ISAIAH 54: 13 -14 NIV
All your children will be taught by the Lord, and great will be their peace. In righteousness you will be established: Tyranny will be far from you; you will have nothing to fear. Terror will be far removed; it will not come near you.
“The Bible teaches us that all of our children will be taught by the Lord. In today’s generation, there is an overwhelming amount of unfiltered information thrown at our children daily, which cannot be controlled no matter how much we, as parents, try to filter it. Even as an adult, I am often overwhelmed by the unnecessary information shared, especially on social media.
That’s why I always ask the Holy Spirit to teach my children beyond what I can teach them or control since the Holy Spirit is the best teacher. Therefore, it is crucial to pray this scripture daily for our children.I love the part of this verse that mentions “ALL your children.” It inspires me to pray for not just my own children, but also for my spiritual children, nieces, nephews, and the children in our ministries. This promise is incredibly powerful, inclusive, and everlasting.
LUKE 2: 52 KJV
And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man.
Again I personalize this and add my children’s names, And Nissi grows in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man. Notice how I changed the past tense to the present? I am very intentional when I use the word of God and you should too.
ISAIAH 11 v 2
The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord.
Before I end today’s blog, let’s do this together one last time. Add your children’s names to this scripture: “The Spirit of the Lord will rest on Divine and Nissi – the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.”
