HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
Happy New Year x Its OK to start again.
Happy new year, I am so excited about this new year, and my first blog in 2022. I honestly feel like I have been in a trance since 2019. Before 2020 hit I had so many goals and aspirations. I had a clear vision in my mind of how 2020 would go. Then Covid 19 hit us in March! Everything was shut down, it felt like the world was literally ending. I personally never thought covid would last this long! I mean we are still dealing with Covid in 2022. Covid impacted many lives directly and indirectly. It doesn’t matter how covid has affected you, it’s OK to start all over. A new page, a clean slate, a fresh beginning.
Are you ready for this new year?
Today’s blog is not about covid, however I am thankful we made it this far. If you’ve survived these past 2 years, there isn’t anything under the sun you cannot overcome. So my question is are you ready for 2022? Have you set realistic goals? Are you mentally, physically and spiritually ready? Sorry to bombard you with these many questions, but doesn’t feel great to know we can start all over? If you do not set the pace from January you might lack a clear vision for the rest of the year. In Habakkuk 2:2 “And the LORD answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it”. Write down your vision for this year, make it plain, simple and understandable. Start again!
What are your resolutions for this new year?
In the beginning of 2020 I made some new year’s resolutions, actually every year like everyone else I always have a new year’s resolution and most years I achieve one or two of them but not till the end of the year, lol! Something about staying consistent, I struggled a lot with consistency in the past. However, in 2021 I wanted to be intentional about my resolutions and I did something about it. So in this new year, my main resolution is to be more accountable and organized with my time, so help me God. I have taken actions to help me with this. I got a massive monthly desk calendar from amazon to help me manage my time better.
What actions will you be taking to help you reach your 2022 goals?
Lessons I learnt from 2021 that will get me through 2022.
One of the most important resolution I had in 2021 was taking 20 minutes a day to reflect on my day and writing about my day to God. 20 minutes of silence! It felt amazing, everyday I looked forward to my me time with God after putting the girls to bed. You have no idea how therapeutic those 20 minutes felt, not only did it make me more thankful, it deepened my relationship with God. I heard God speak to me so vividly so many times during my time with him. I know that the spirit of God led me into writing those resolutions, because it got me through 2021. My resolution was simple, achievable and attainable.
Don’t beat yourself too hard if you do not achieve your goals, in this new year.
Did I struggle sometimes with being consistent even though I was intentional about consistency? Yes, absolutely! I am human and not perfect. There were times when I fell asleep during my 20 minutes silent time with God. There were times when I forgot to journal, but I didn’t let it stop me the next day, I kept trying until it became an habit. I didn’t give up, so don’t be too hard on yourself and keep trying, start all over again the next day. Once again, happy new year and truly pray this is your best year ever!
