Entrepreneurship Interview on JUmmieOGBLOG

Carly (Tunby) Neuschafer x Founder of Wovenroseee & Honeywicks

(Glammed Naturally Oil Affiliates Team Member)

Believe it or not Carly was a customer turned business partner. She purchased my products and became our number one advocate and affiliate. I do not joke with relationship building and appreciate every woman entrepreneur that comes my way. I had to keep this beautiful soul  in my circle and it is such a pleasure to tell her entrepreneurship story with you.

What inspired you to take the path of entrepreneurship? Everybody has a story, what is your story?

When I was a teenager, I used to do my friends hair for dances and  enjoyed it so much, but I never took it seriously. At that time, hair stylists weren’t given the respect that we are given today. It was definitely something I was nervous to tell people… that I wasn’t going to a university, wasn’t taking the route that so many considered the “right” one. My mom had always told me I should pursue doing hair by going to cosmetology school. When I was 16, I realized that was exactly what I wanted to do. I worked so hard getting through school and then assisting a stylist after I graduated, eventually to be on my own. I was so nervous that I wasn’t going to succeed, but with so much support from my parents, I did! They believed in me even when I didn’t believe in me. I am so proud to own my own business and have a very successful one at that. I can’t imagine doing anything else.

What advice will you give your younger self?

DO NOT let people tell you what you will or won’t do. Make that decision for yourself, no one knows what you’re capable of. With passion and hard work, you can do anything. Keep trucking honey!Entrepreneurship Interview on JUmmieOGBLOG

Relationship building – Let’s talk about this! How important is relationship building for you and how did it help your business?

Relationship building is key. I would say the effort I have put into relationships with my clients is what has made me successful. I genuinely care about them and give them my all. I love knowing who they are, where they came from and what they want for themselves.

How do you manage two businesses at once – Please share some tips on how you balance it all

I’m still learning! Some days are easier than others. Hair is my number one always. My candle company is second. I started making candles in vintage glassware to sell when salons started shutting down in 2020. It really got me through and was so much fun. Learning to balance is still something I struggle with. Realizing when I need to take a step back when things get too hectic has been so helpful.

Do you take risks? What risk did you take? Was it a good or bad risk? What would you do differently?

Absolutely! Starting your own business is always a risk! BUT, it was also the most satisfying and rewarding experience for me. It was tough, but I’m so proud to be where I am today. Picking up and leaving a salon I had been at for 6 years to go to a salon suite was definitely a risk. But it proved to be amazing and I love the intimate experience it brings. Sometimes you have to take a leap and not turn back!

What do you do for personal growth, development, and how do you self care?

Having a life coach has been so eye opening to me, genuinely life changing. My mind moves so fast that I definitely need help sorting things out. Hanging with my husband + dog is absolute peace to me. Family & friends time. Getting massages + facials is another favorite. Working out and taking care of my body is a necessity!

Was there a time you felt like giving up? What inspired you to keep going?

Absolutely. There were many times that I felt so scared to fail. And have failed! Even before i started cosmetology! Being constantly told it was a hard industry to make it in and to make sure I had a backup (college) wasn’t easy. But it made me want to succeed that much more. Looking back, I think being doubted made me push harder to do well.

What advice would you give to anyone who is about to embark on the entrepreneurship journey?

Work hard. Nothing will just come to you. Put yourself out there and know there will be good days and bad days. Pushing through those bad days will only make you stronger. Be positive and know you got this!

You are one of Glammed Naturally Oil affiliates, what inspired you to join the team?

I was inspired to join the team because of the amazing results I noticed with my hair. I couldn’t wait to share with my clients who have also experienced amazing things. Also, Jummie always made everything so personalized and is just a great human! I loved being a part of anything she has created!

How has your partnership with Glammed Naturally Oil helped you, and what advice would you give to anyone thinking about joining the team?

It has helped me have confidence in my hair! It never grew before and if it did, it would break. I feel like I have the answers for my clients when they ask about scalp/hair health and growth. And all natural products? It’s a win, win! If you’re even thinking about being a part of the team, this is your sign to do so!

Are you open to mentorship? How can you be reached? What are your social handles?

Absolutely. I would love to have days where upcoming stylists shadow me and learn skills that have taken me years to master! My social handles are @carlyscissorhandss & @wovenroseee
